Would you like to have your pet, favorite animal or another personal subject drawn? I create custom drawings based on clear photos and your story. Animals and pets are my favorite subjects, but I’m also open to other meaningful ideas.

About me
I’m Kim Hartman, the artist behind Kimhart Art. From Wageningen in the Netherlands, I create hand-drawn animal portraits, pet portraits and personal commissions using traditional materials like graphite pencils, pastel pencils and colored pencils. On this little corner of the internet, I share the drawings I’m proud of ánd the things I’m still learning along the way.
In my drawings, I love to put different kinds of animals in the spotlight, but I also enjoy drawing a portrait every now and then.
I enjoy drawing in different styles and trying out new things. I dabble in realism, but also like not letting my perfectionism get in the way. My looser, more personal fantasy style is where I can really make a piece of my own.

How I work on your drawing
My drawings take time and attention, exactly how I like it.
- Listening first. For custom work, I start by understanding the story behind the animal or person.
- Collecting references. Clear photos help me capture the right personality and feeling.
- Taking my time. I prefer working on the layers and emotions rather than rushing, so the result can be something to keep for years.
